Experience
I have tutored, or taught, students since I was a graduate teaching assistant at San Diego State University when I was getting my Master's degree in Philosophy many years ago. I have been tutoring on a consistent basis for the past 10 years. I tutor because I love to help students at a more personal level and get them the individual help they need. I am a very experienced student (I have an A.S., B.A., 2 M.A.'s, and a Ph.D. degree) and during those years I also studied how to be the most efficient student I could be. I became a bit of an expert in taking notes, organizing, reading effectively, test taking, writing, and other areas that a student needs to be proficient at. I have been a college professor since 2012. I was voted 1 of the 9 Most Outstanding Faculty of Cerritos College for 2016-2017, and was 1 of 9 faculty chosen to give a TEDx talk. Despite teaching in college, tutoring is my main focus because of the greater impact I can have on an individual student. The personal relationship with students allows me to really understand what each individual needs.
