| Experience: | I have experience in various levels and degrees of informal tutoring. I want to become a tutor in order to gain experience in interacting with students, and expand my resume in the hopes of achieving a career as a high school teacher. SAT Reading - 750 (98th percentile) SAT Math - 660 (87th percentile) SAT Writing - 720 (97th percentile) GRE Verbal Reasoning - 163 (93rd percentile) GRE Quantitative Reasoning - 162 (87th percentile) GRE Analytical Writing - 5.5 (96th percentile) AP Language and Composition - 5 AP Literature and Composition - 4 AP Government and Politics - 5 AP Computer Science - 5 AP Chemistry - 4 My current tutoring pursuits involve math, but I wasn't always that into it. I am very familiar with the feeling of frustration or hopelessness in math, and the question, "When am I ever going to use this?" Thus I can empathize with students experiencing similar feelings, and hopefully I can provide encouragement and hope. Besides math, I am familiar with many different topics and performed well on Advanced Placement tests over a variety of subjects, as shown above. My collegiate math courses have been the following: Calculus I Calculus II Calculus III Discrete Structures Linear Algebra Classical Geometry I performed well in all these classes and was consistently able to help other students during study sessions, etc. |
